BAPTISM AND LORD'S SUPPER OR HOLY COMMUNION

PREVIOUS

When the first feast of the LORD's Passover was observed by the Israelites in Egypt, they obtained the following blessings from the LORD GOD. See Exodus Chapter 12. The blessings are:

  1. They obtained full freedom from the cruel slavery of Egypt.
  2. They were saved from the cruel death of all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt that sat on his throne unto the first-born of the captive that was in the dungeon and all the first-born of cattle, by the terrible wrath of the LORD GOD.
  3. There was a great difference between the Israelites, the children of the LORD GOD and the Egyptians.
  4. While there was loud wailing and a great cry in the land of Egypt, because there was not a house without someone dead; the Israelites were celebrating the feast of the LORD's Passover in great joy and happiness.
  5. They started their journey towards the land of Canaan (the land of Palestine), their Promised Land, promised by the LORD GOD.

Now, to observe (keep) the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover, you must obtain full freedom from the slavery of sins, from the slavery of Satan, the devil and from the slavery of curse; you must be saved and redeemed from the terrible wrath of the LORD GOD; there must be a great difference between you and other Gentiles, the unsaved people; you must have the experience to celebrate the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover or the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion in great joy and happiness; and you must be a traveller towards the land of heavenly Canaan (the kingdom of heaven), your Promised Land, promised by the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

The feast of the LORD's Passover must be observed during night and it should not be observed during daytime (Exodus 12:42). To set an example, our LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST also observed the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover or the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion during night-time and not on daytime
(I Corinthians 11:23-26).

The New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover or the LORD's Supper or the Breaking of Bread or the Holy Communion is clearly explained in I Corinthians 5:6-8.

“Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even CHRIST our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
I Corinthians 5:6-8

The spiritual meaning of 'old leaven' means 'old sins' and 'little leaven' means 'dust-like or atom-like very small sins'. The New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover or the LORD's Supper or the Breaking of Bread or the Holy Communion must be observed with sincerity and truth and not with malice and wickedness. They should not bear malice against the LORD GOD; they should not malign others and they must be noble.

In the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover, the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the Lamb of GOD is sacrificed for us and for the whole world, on the fourteenth day of the first month of their year. Hence, the Old Testament feast of the LORD's Passover came to an end.

Now, the regulations (ordinances) for the feast of the LORD’s Passover are as follows. The regulations are:

1.    No stranger is to eat of it (Exodus 12:43). These strangers are the people who are    strangers to the laws and doctrines and commandments of the LORD GOD.
2.     No hired servant is to eat of it (Exodus 12:45). These hired servants are the people who are living for this world and not living for the kingdom of heaven. They are the most pitiable people.

“If in this life only we have hope in CHRIST, we are of all men most miserable.”
I Corinthians 15:19

3.     No uncircumcised person is to eat of it (Exodus 12:48). By the circumcision of the LORD GOD, they are renewed in the spirit of their mind and they put on the new man, created to be like GOD in true righteousness and holiness.

“In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of CHRIST.”
Colossians 2:11

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation (conduct) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after GOD is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24

    4.       All the congregation of Israel must celebrate it (Exodus 12:47). The congregation of Israel is the congregation of the LORD GOD. The congregation of the LORD GOD is the congregation of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. The congregation of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is HIS church. The saved and the baptized people are the members of HIS church. They are without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

“...And the LORD added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2:47

“That HE might present it to HIMSELF a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
Ephesians 5:27

This is how the children of GOD are to eat the feast of the LORD’s Passover:

And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s passover.” Exodus 12:11

‘Your loins girded’ means ‘a belt on your waist’.

Now, this loin is the belt of truth; these shoes are the feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; and this staff is the shield of faith.

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, ...And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
Ephesians 6:14-16

The New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover is otherwise called the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread.

2.2 PARTICIPANTS

Further, in the first century Christian church, the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread was observed by those who continued (devoted) themselves steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, and those who continued themselves steadfastly in fellowship with each other and those who continued themselves steadfastly in prayers.

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”  Acts 2:42

‘In Breaking of Bread’ means ‘in LORD’s Supper’ or ‘in Holy Communion’. Apostles’ doctrine includes their witnesses, their works, their instant prayers, their fellowship with one another, and their Breaking of Bread.

Those who continue themselves steadfastly in the above three things are eligible to continue themselves steadfastly in the Breaking of Bread or eligible to partake of the Breaking of Bread or of the LORD's Supper or of the Holy Communion.

Now, some people say that the Old Testament is not necessary for them and the New Testament is enough for them. But, they must know that the apostles' doctrine contains all the doctrines from Genesis to the Revelation. Hence, all the doctrines in the Holy Bible are the apostles' doctrines. All the doctrines in the Holy Bible are handed over by the LORD GOD to HIS apostles. The mysteries in the Holy Bible are revealed by the LORD GOD to HIS apostles of the New Testament period and the mysteries are revealed by the LORD GOD to HIS prophets through HIS apostles. But, the mysteries were not revealed to HIS ministers of the Old Testament period.

“How that by revelation HE made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of CHRIST) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto HIS holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.”
Ephesians 3:3-5

‘In other ages’ means ‘in the Old Testament generations’.

Further, what is told about the ministers of the old covenant?  What is told about the ministry of the old covenant? What is told about the ministers of the new covenant? And what is told about the ministry of the new covenant?

“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament (new covenant); not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly (steadily) behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away (passing away): How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather (more) glorious?  For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of (because of) the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away (passing away) was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness (boldness) of speech: And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to (look steadily at) the end of that which is abolished (was passing away): But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in CHRIST. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the LORD, the veil shall be taken away.” II Corinthians 3:6-16

‘Ministration’ means ‘ministry’.

The spiritual meaning of the word ‘the letter’ is the laws of the Old Testament, i.e., eye for eye, tooth for tooth etc.

The new covenant ministry is the ministry of the Spirit, more glorious than the old covenant ministry. Its glory remains always. The new covenant ministry brings righteousness and everlasting glory.  Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

Now, what are the three sections of the Old Testament?  See St. Luke 24:44.

1.   The things which are written in the law of Moses.
           2.   The things which are written by the prophets (the scriptures of the prophets).
           3.  The things which are written in the Psalms.

All the mysteries in the Old Testament are revealed only to the apostles and not to others. Let us see some examples.

What is the revelation to Paul, the apostle relating to the law of Moses?

“Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth GOD take care for oxen? Or saith HE it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.” I Corinthians 9:8-10

‘Doth GOD take care for oxen?’ means ‘Is it oxen GOD is concerned about?’

What is the revelation to Paul, the apostle relating to the scriptures of the prophets?

“Now to HIM that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of JESUS CHRIST, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting GOD, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith.” Romans 16:25-26

The gospel of Paul, the preaching of JESUS CHRIST clearly reveals the mysteries in the scriptures of the prophets.

What is the revelation to Paul, the apostle relating to the Psalms ?

“...Today if ye will hear HIS voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness.” Psalm 95:7-8

“Again, HE limiteth (designates) a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7

Therefore, ‘Today’ means ‘GOD set a certain day’.

What is the revelation to Paul, the apostle relating to ‘GOD rested on the seventh day’ in Genesis ?

“And on the seventh day GOD ended HIS work which HE had made; and HE rested on the seventh day from all HIS work which HE had made. And GOD blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it HE had rested from all HIS work which GOD created and made.” Genesis 2:2-3

“Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of (remaining of) entering into HIS rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as HE said, As I have sworn in MY wrath, if they shall (they shall not) enter into MY rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For HE spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise (in this way), And GOD did rest the seventh day from all HIS works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into MY rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief (disobedience): Again, HE limiteth (designates) a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts. For if Joshua had given them rest, then would HE not (HE would not) afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of GOD. For he that is entered into HIS rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as GOD did from HIS. Let us labour (be diligent) therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (disobedience).”
Hebrews 4:1-11

Now, 'GOD rested on the seventh day' refers to the eternal rest to the people of GOD in the kingdom of GOD (heaven).

Again, all the doctrines relating to repentance from sins, forgiveness of sins (remission of sins), salvation from sins, the experience of divine goodness, the experience of born-again (born-from-above), holiness, holy life, obtaining the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of GOD), redemption from sins, spiritual growth, etc., are the doctrines of the apostles. Those who devote themselves steadfastly in the Breaking of Bread must devote themselves steadfastly in the above spiritual experiences.

Further, all the doctrines relating to offerings, tithes of all things, first-born of the sheep, ox, etc., first-fruits of grain (corn), new wine, oil, honey and all that the fields produced, first portion of the dough (the ground meal), etc., are the doctrines of the apostles. The total consecration of a man's life to GOD's service involves submitting oneself, one's own family, and all of one's possessions to GOD.

“Only the firstling of the beasts (first-born among the animals), which should be the LORD’s firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox, or sheep: it is the LORD’s. And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s: it is holy unto the LORD.  And if a man will at all redeem aught of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD. He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.” Leviticus 27:26, 30-33

“And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly. And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their GOD, and laid them by heaps. In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and HIS people Israel. Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed HIS people; and that which is left is this great store. Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them, And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: ...” II Chronicles 31:5-12

“And the first of all the firstfruits of all things, and every oblation (sacrifice) of all, of every sort of your oblations, shall be the priest’s: ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest in thine house.”
Ezekiel 44:30

“Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy GOD which HE hath given thee.”
Deuteronomy 16:17

Tithing is the practice of giving 10 per cent of one's income to the LORD GOD. The payment of tithes and offerings is a recognition of their proper subjection and obedience to GOD that HE owns them and all that they have. Withholding the tithes and offerings is renouncing the Sovereignty of GOD. Renouncing the Sovereignty of GOD was the sin committed by Lucifer or Satan, the devil in the beginning.
what is meant by offering?

“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.”
 I Chronicles 29:14

All things belong to the LORD GOD and all things come from the hands of the LORD GOD to HIS people. From the above things, which they received from the LORD GOD, they give a portion to the LORD GOD. They are receiving from the hands of the LORD GOD and they are giving the same to the LORD GOD. Hence, receiving from the hands of the LORD GOD and giving the same to the LORD GOD is the offering.

Anyone who is not giving the offerings to the LORD GOD is in debt to the LORD GOD. Hence, give to GOD what is GOD's. When you pay the debts to the LORD GOD, your debts will be cleared. All the offerings belong to GOD. All the offerings are of GOD's.
Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST said,

“Render ... unto GOD the things that are GOD’s.”
St. Matthew 22:21

Again, honouring the LORD GOD is the offering. Anyone who is not giving the offerings to the LORD GOD dishonours the LORD GOD.

“Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses (vats) shall burst out with new wine.”
Proverbs 3:9-10

In the Old Testament period, the priests of the LORD GOD accepted the offerings, tithes, etc. In the New Testament period, the ministers of JESUS CHRIST, ministering the gospel of GOD, are accepting the offerings, tithes, etc., since they are the priests of the New Testament period. See Romans 15:15-16. They have the right to receive remuneration for their work. GOD's people are to share their material possessions with their ministers.
“Even so hath the LORD ordained (commanded) that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.”
I Corinthians 9:14

“Let him that is taught in the word communicate (share) unto him that teacheth in all good things.”
Galatians 6:6

Giving the offerings, tithes, etc., to the LORD GOD will bring more blessings to the people and all the nations will call them blessed. If anyone who is not giving to GOD what is GOD's or if anyone who is not giving the offerings, tithes, etc., to the LORD GOD, then he is robbing GOD and he is committing the following sins. The sins are:
1.      He is turned away from the ordinances of the LORD GOD and he has not kept them.
2.      He is gone away from the LORD GOD.
3.      He has robbed GOD.
4.      He is under a curse.
5.      He has taken the food of the LORD's servants (ministers).

“Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from MINE ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto ME, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein (In what way) shall we return? Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee?In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat (food) in MINE house, and prove (test) ME now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome (delightful) land, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Malachi 3:7-12
‘Cast her fruit before the time in the field’ means ‘fail to bear fruit for you in the field’.

Unrighteous people are not at all fit to bring their gifts or offerings before the altar of the LORD GOD.

“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught (something) against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
St. Matthew 5:20, 23-24

Do not charge your brother interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest. Brother is the member of the congregation or church and not a stranger.

“Thou shalt not lend upon usury (charge interest) to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury: Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy GOD may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.”
Deuteronomy 23:19-20

Now, what is said about the congregation of the church?
“Now ye are the body of CHRIST, and members in particular.”
I Corinthians 12:27

Hence, the members of the church must be like-minded one toward another according to CHRIST JESUS. They must glorify GOD with one mind (heart) and one mouth and having the same love. They must be of one accord and their attitude should be as that of CHRIST JESUS.

“Now the GOD of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to CHRIST JESUS: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify GOD, even the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
Romans 15:5-6

“If there be therefore any consolation in CHRIST, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels (affection) and mercies (sympathy), Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS.”
Philippians 2:1-5

Further, they must be completely humble and gentle and patient, bearing with one another in love. They must not lie to each other.  They must also forgive one another and live according to the following verses.

“I therefore, the prisoner of the LORD, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation (calling) wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing (bearing with) one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as GOD for CHRIST’s sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:1-3, 25-32

“Lie not one to another, seeing (since) that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of HIM that created him. Put on therefore, as the elect of GOD, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies (tender mercies), kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing (bearing with) one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as CHRIST forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity (love), which is the bond of perfectness.”
Colossians 3:9-10, 12-14

But, in the matter of forgiveness, there is one kind of GOD's ministers, who may or may not give forgiveness. Giving forgiveness to anyone is their own will and pleasure. This is the authority given by the LORD JESUS CHRIST to HIS apostles. If they forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if they do not forgive anyone his sins, they are not forgiven. These happen according to the grace and guidance of the Holy Spirit of GOD.

“Whose soever sins ye remit (forgive), they are remitted (forgiven) unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”
St. John 20:23

Again, they must do all things without murmurings and disputings.  They must be blameless and harmless and they must shine as lights in the world.

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless (innocent), the sons (children) of GOD, without rebuke (fault), in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation (generation), among whom ye shine as lights in the world.”
Philippians 2:14-15

Further, patience is very much needed to save their souls.

“In your patience possess ye your souls.”
St. Luke 21:19
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of GOD, ye might receive the promise.”
Hebrews 10:36

Again, they must not be proud, but they must be willing to associate with people of low position.
“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”
Romans 12:16

Further, their love must be sincere, and they should honour one another above themselves and they must live according to the following verses.

“Let love be without dissimulation (hypocrisy). Abhor that which is evil; cleave (cling) to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring (giving preference to) one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the LORD; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity (needs) of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”
Romans 12:9-14

Again, their sins and their sinful lusts must be cured and they must be holy and righteous.

“Who HIS own self bare our sins in HIS own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
I Peter 2:24
“Ye have heard that it was said by (to) them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”
St. Matthew 5:27-29
‘Offend thee’ means ‘causes you to sin’.

Further, they should not swear and their communication and their acts and deeds must be as follows.

“Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by (to) them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear (swear falsely) thyself, but shalt perform unto the LORD thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is GOD’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is HIS footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication (word) be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil (an evil person): but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
St. Matthew  5:33-39

Again, they must flee from the following sins. They must flee from fornication; they must flee from idolatry; they must flee from youthful lusts; and they must flee from love of money.

“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without (outside) the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”
I Corinthians 6:18
“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.”
 I Corinthians 10:14
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow (pursue) righteousness, faith, charity (love), peace, with them that call on the LORD out of a pure heart.”
II Timothy 2:22
“For the love of money is the root of all (all kinds of) evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of GOD, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”
I Timothy 6:10-11

Further, they must live by faith. GOD's righteous people or the just will live by faith. If anyone lives by faith, then he/she will never search for any worldly doctor or physician and he/she will never take any medicine for his diseases and sicknesses and he/she will do according to James 5:14-16 below.

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
Hebrews 10:38-39
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the LORD: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the LORD shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of  a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:14-16

Again, they must be religious and they must keep tight reins on their tongues.

“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before GOD and the FATHER is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
James 1:26-27
“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter (forest) a little fire kindleth (sets on fire)! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature (life); and it is set on fire of hell.”
James 3:5-6

Further, they must give to the servants of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST and they should not offend HIS servants.

“For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in MY name, because ye belong to CHRIST, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. And whosoever shall offend (cause to stumble) one of these little ones that believe in ME, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.”
St. Mark 9:41-42

Again, they must be submissive to the elders (apostles) of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST and they must be submissive towards one another (I Peter 5:1, 5; Ephesians 5:21).
Furthermore, the husband is the divinely appointed head and authority over his wife. The husband is responsible to protect his wife spiritually and bodily. The wife's submission to her husband should be in everything in the fear of GOD and in everything conforming to GOD's will. The marital responsibility of husband is to love his wife. The husband who loves his wife loves himself. The wife should respect her husband. The husband will not be bitter toward his wife. He will not be rude or unkind or cruel toward his wife. The husband and the wife should be one flesh.
Woman is said not to have been taken out of man’s head to be lorded-over by her husband, nor from his feet to be trampled on by him, nor from his hands to be beaten up by him, but from his side to be equal with him, from under his arm to be protected by him and from near his heart to be loved by him (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7, 18-25). He must always be very helpful to his wife intellectually, morally and physically as her counterpart. It is not lawful for a man to put away (divorce) his wife (St. Matthew 19:3-6).
Now, the fellowship between husband and wife must be as follows. The apostle Paul says,
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the LORD. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as CHRIST is the head of the church: and HE is the Saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto CHRIST, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as CHRIST also loved the church, and gave HIMSELF for it. So ought men to love their wives (their own wives) as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the LORD the church: For we are members of HIS body, of HIS flesh, and of HIS bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning CHRIST and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence (respects) her husband.”
Ephesians 5:22-25, 28-33
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit (fitting) in the LORD. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”
Colossians 3:18-19

Disobedient or unsaved husbands are to be won over by their wives' chaste conduct accompanied by fear of GOD. The husband will live with his wife with understanding, giving honour to his wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heir together of the grace of life, so that his/her prayers may not be hindered.

The apostle Peter says about the behaviour of wives and husbands and about the relationship of wives to husbands and the relationship of husbands to wives. He says,
“Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the (a) word be won by the conversation (conduct) of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation (conduct) coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of GOD of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in GOD, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters (children) ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”
I Peter 3:1-7
Wives must always submit to and obey their husbands in the LORD. Wives should obey the Word of GOD. Wives should have a chaste and virtuous conduct. Wives should not have any outward adorning with jewellery or ornaments. Wives' inner being must be adorned with a meek, gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of GOD. Wives should have implicit faith in GOD. Wives should always do good and be absolutely faithful to their husbands, so that they will never be found guilty of infidelity.
In GOD's creation, the female is weaker than the male, physically and psychologically. But, GOD created man as well as woman as vessels of HIS honour and glory to contain HIM and to make known HIS honour and glory upon them (Romans 9:23). The believers in CHRIST are vessels to contain CHRIST as their divine and excellent treasure (II Corinthians 4:7). Even though the wives, as female vessels, are weaker, they are still vessels of the LORD; and wives can be vessels unto honour and glory. So, the husbands must know the preciousness of the wives and give due respect and honour to their wives.
Further, all believers are heirs of the grace of life. The wives are also husbands' fellow heirs of the grace of life and the husbands are also wives' fellow heirs of the grace of life. So, the husbands must live with their wives in the most intelligent and reasonable way. They must be governed by human and spiritual knowledge, and not governed by any passion or emotion. They should also understand the nature of the marriage relationship and the weakness of the female. The husbands should honour and respect their wives and they should live with them, so that nothing will hinder their prayers. Without prayers, no one can inherit the grace of life, the grace of eternal life, the eternal kingdom of GOD.
apostle Paul about the principles of marriage and about keeping marriage vows: He intends to teach that it is morally and spiritually good for a man not to touch a woman. In their letter to St. Paul, the Corinthians have raised six questions about single and married life.
    (1)    Are married couples to continue normal sexual relations after conversion or regeneration? Yes (I Corinthians 7:1-7).
(2)    Should single people marry? Yes. Here, Paul prefers the single life-but only for those with GOD's gift of self-control (I Corinthians 7:7-9).
(3)    Is divorce between Christians permissible? No, it is not (I Corinthians 7:10-11).
(4)    What about the unconverted husband or wife? Christians are to stick to their unconverted partners, unless the partner wants separation (I Corinthians 7:12-16).
(5)    What is the responsibility of the father towards his virgin daughter? See I Corinthians 7:36-38.
(6)    May widows or widowers remarry? Yes, they may (I Corinthians 7:39-40).

Furthermore, they should not adorn themselves with any ornaments. The apostles Peter and Paul clearly tell us about the prohibitions against jewellery and costly dress. Their teachings are as follows:

“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel (costly apparel); But let it be the hidden man of the
heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of
GOD of great price.”
I Peter 3:3-4
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array (clothing).”
I Timothy 2:9

Husbands and wives must have holy hands. Their hands should not be defiled with blood. Adultery, bribery, killing or beating by hands or by weapons, writing false witnesses, writing lies, putting false signatures, etc., defile the hands.

“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (disputes).”
I Timothy 2:8
“And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide MINE eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.”
Isaiah 1:15
“For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.”
Isaiah 59:3

Women (wives) must show discretion; and they must be GOD-fearing, virtuous and wise.

“As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.”
Proverbs 11:22
“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30
“A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.”
Proverbs 12:4
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh (pulls) it down with her hands.”
Proverbs 14:1
“Even so must their wives be grave (reverent), not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.”
I Timothy 3:11

Husbands should not deal with their wives treacherously. They should not beat their wives. They should not be beaters. Wives are husbands' companions (partners). Wives are husbands' marriage covenant. Husbands are wives' companions (partners). Husbands are wives' marriage covenant. Wives' tears, weeping, crying and wailing cover (flood) the altar of the LORD GOD. Hence, the LORD GOD will be the witness between them and their husbands. It will be a very terrible thing for the husbands.

“And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch (because) that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.”
Malachi 2:13-14

Marriage is an indissoluble union. Marriage is the union of one man and one woman (St. Mark 10:6-9). The law of GOD binds the wife as long as her husband lives. The law of GOD binds the husband as long as his wife lives. Only death breaks the marital union. In the event of the husband's death, the wife is free from obligation to her husband and may either remain unmarried or may remarry. She may remarry, only in the LORD. Also, in the event of the wife's death, the husband is free from obligation to his wife and may either remain unmarried or may remarry. He may remarry, only in the LORD. To marry another while one's spouse is still living, is adultery. Adultery is a great sin against our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. Adulterers and adulteresses will be thrown into hell, the fiery lake of burning sulphur.

“The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the LORD.”
I Corinthians 7:39
“For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of (concerning) her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.”
Romans 7:2-3

Without chastity, there is no might in one's spiritual life. Chastity is the might of a spiritual man or woman. Spiritual men and women must be chaste in all their behaviours, speeches, looks, etc. The aged men or older men or elderly men are to be examples of godliness to the younger men. The aged women or older women or elderly women are to teach the younger women by their example. And they must teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, and to love their children. The younger women must be submissive to their own husbands. They must stay at home, and they must be workers at home. They should not be wandering about from house to house. They must not be gossips. Young men must also be sober-minded.  They must not be gossips or gossip-mongers.

“That the aged men be sober, grave (reverent), temperate, sound in faith, in charity (love), in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers (slanderers), not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of GOD be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.”
Titus 2:2-6

The older men must be treated as fathers; the older women must be treated as mothers; the younger men must be treated as brothers; and the younger women must be treated as sisters, with all purity.

“Rebuke not an elder (older man), but entreat (exhort) him as a father; and the younger men as brethren: The elder women (older women) as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all
purity.”

I Timothy 5:1-2

Honour widows who are really widows.
“Honour widows that are widows indeed.”
I Timothy 5:3

The true widows will trust in GOD, and continue in supplications and prayers night and day. But the widow who lives in worldly pleasures and lusts is spiritually dead while she physically lives.

“Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in GOD, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.”
I Timothy 5:5-6

The apostle Paul gives a few words of advice to slaves under unbelieving masters and to slaves under believing masters (Christian masters). His advice to slaves under unbelieving masters is:

“Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of GOD and HIS doctrine be not blasphemed.”
I Timothy 6:1
‘Let as many servants as are under the yoke’ means ‘Let all those who are under the yoke as slaves’.

Now, Christianity creates equality of standing before GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Because of this, some believing slaves (Christian slaves) desire to get social equality of standing before their believing masters (Christian masters), and despise their Christian masters. But, believing slaves (Christian slaves) should not despise their believing masters (Christian masters), and they should serve them all the better, because those who benefit by this good service (the fine work of the slaves) are believers, dear to GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

“And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. …”
I Timothy 6:2

No one should fail to pay the wages of the labourers. The apostle James warns,

“Behold, the hire (wages) of the labourers who have reaped (mowed) down your fields, which is of you (you have) kept back by fraud, crieth (cry out): and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the LORD of Sabaoth (the LORD of hosts or the LORD of armies).”
James 5:4

The apostle James warns against personal favouritism.
“Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not GOD chosen the poor of this world rich (to be rich) in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which HE hath promised to them that love HIM? But ye have despised the poor. … But if ye have respect (show partiality) to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced (convicted) of the law as transgressors.”
James 2:5-6, 9

Everyone should have fellowship with one another. Everyone should love one another. Everyone should love his neighbour as himself. Everyone should love the LORD his GOD with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his mind. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST has opened HIS most holy mouth and said,

“Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
St. Matthew 22:37, 39
“Ye love one another.”
St. John 13:34

Now, these are called the apostles' doctrine, the doctrine given by our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST to HIS apostles. Those who continue themselves steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and those who continue themselves steadfastly in fellowship with each other are eligible to partake of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion.
Now, to partake of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, they must devote themselves steadfastly to prayers. Prayer alone will enable us to stand before the returning Son of man, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. We should pray for all men.

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (the LORD JESUS CHRIST).”
St. Luke 21:36
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”
I Peter 4:7
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanks-giving.”
Colossians 4:2
“Pray without ceasing.”
I Thessalonians 5:17
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of GOD our Saviour.”
I Timothy 2:1-3
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Ephesians 6:18-20

If they devote themselves steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship with one another and in prayers, then they will be filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, their faith in the LORD GOD will grow more and more, their holy love with each other will be increasing, and their faith in the LORD GOD will be known everywhere.

“And ye became followers of us, and of the LORD, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit): So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the LORD not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to GOD-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.”
I Thessalonians 1:6-8

“We are bound to thank GOD always for you, brethren, as it is meet (fitting), because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity (love) of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of GOD for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure.”
 II Thessalonians 1:3-4

The people with the above experiences and with the experiences mentioned below in the next sub-heading are eligible to partake of the feast of the LORD's Supper or the Breaking of Bread or the Holy Communion.

In the first century Christian church, they observed the feast of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion with gladness and singleness of heart and they continued daily with one accord in the temple. To observe the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread, gladness and singleness of heart and sincere heart are also required.
“And they, continuing daily with one accord (mind) in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat (food) with gladness and singleness of heart.”
Acts 2:46

2.3 MEANING OF LORD'S SUPPER

Our LORD GOD, who has called everyone into the fellowship with HIS SON JESUS CHRIST our LORD, is faithful.

GOD is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of HIS Son JESUS CHRIST our LORD.”
I Corinthians 1:9

Full fellowship with the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST and full fellowship with each other are required of HIS people, the saved.
The fellowship with the life of the LORD GOD, the fellowship with the spirit of the LORD GOD, the fellowship with the soul of the LORD GOD, the fellowship with the most holy flesh of the LORD GOD and the fellowship with the most holy blood of the LORD GOD are very essential for full fellowship with the LORD GOD. When a man gets salvation from his sins by the LORD JESUS CHRIST, he will be in fellowship with the life and the spirit and the soul of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST.
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to GOD, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our LORD.”
Romans 6:22-23

The fellowship with the most holy flesh of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST and the fellowship with the most holy blood of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST are obtained by the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread. The LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion is the fellowship with the most holy flesh and the most holy blood of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. Thus, full fellowship with the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is obtained only by the LORD's Supper or by the Holy Communion.
Further, for the fellowship with the most holy GOD, they must be holy. Again, for the fellowship with the most holy flesh of the most holy GOD and for the fellowship with the most holy blood of the most holy GOD, they must be holy. They must be holy in their spirit and soul and body (flesh). They must be cleansed (purified) from all filthiness of their spirit and soul and body, perfecting holiness in the fear of GOD.

“And the very GOD of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray GOD your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
I Thessalonians 5:23
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of GOD.”
II Corinthians 7:1

Now, for the above cleansing (purification), they must be obedient. If they are not obedient, then they will not be cleansed. For the above obedience, they should have full faith. Without faith, no one can obey. Abraham's faith and obedience are highly appreciable.

“As obedient children, not fashioning (conforming) yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as HE which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (conduct); Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
I Peter 1:14-16

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith Abraham, when he was tried (tested), offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that GOD was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”
Hebrews 11:8, 17-19

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram (Abraham), Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all
families of the earth be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1-3
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.”
Romans 4:16

Further, for the fellowship with the most holy flesh and the most holy blood of the LORD or for the partaking of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, the faith of Abraham must be with everyone. They should believe the LORD with full heart. The believers of the LORD GOD are Abraham's offspring and Abraham is the father of all believers. The believers of the LORD should follow the faith of Abraham but they should not follow the Old Testament lifestyle of Abraham.

Hence, for the partaking of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, they must be obedient; they must believe the LORD with full heart; they must live by faith; and they must be holy. Living by faith must be according to the verses in James 5:14-16.
Again, for the fellowship with the most holy flesh and the most holy blood of the LORD or for the partaking of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread, good report (good witness) by all men and by the truth and by the holy servants of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is very essential.

“Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.”
 III John 12

Further, for the fellowship with the most holy flesh and the most holy blood of the LORD or for the partaking of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion they should always do the will of the LORD GOD. The LORD's will will always be against the will and wish of man. Our LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS
CHRIST always walked in accordance with the will of the LORD.

“For even CHRIST pleased not HIMSELF; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on ME.”
Romans 15:3

Prayer life with continued prayers, full of faith, full of belief, full of humility, full of holiness, full of obedience, truthfulness in all things, fellowship with each other, holy and blameless before the LORD GOD in love, doing always the will of GOD even unto death, good witness by all men and by the truth and by the LORD's servants, etc., are the required experiences to partake of the Breaking of Bread or the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion.

2.4 IMPORTANCE

“The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of CHRIST? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of CHRIST? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.”
I Corinthians 10:16-17

By the Holy Communion of the most holy blood of JESUS CHRIST and by the Holy Communion of the most holy body (flesh) of JESUS CHRIST, full fellowship with JESUS CHRIST, the LORD GOD is obtained.
Since, they are all partakers of the one bread, they being many are one bread, and one body. The glorious fellowship is one bread and one body, the most holy body of JESUS CHRIST. Hence, all the saints or the people of the LORD GOD are one bread and one body. They are fellow-citizens with one bread and one body, the most holy body of JESUS CHRIST and members of the most holy body of JESUS CHRIST in particular (individually). Now, the church is the most holy body of JESUS CHRIST. The members of the church are the saved people. See Acts 2:47.
“Now ye are the body of CHRIST, and members (organs) in particular.”
I Corinthians 12:27

2.5 IMPROPER PARTICIPATION
When instituting the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, our LORD JESUS CHRIST did not allow Judas Iscariot, the traitor to participate in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion. Hence, our LORD JESUS CHRIST desires no improper participation in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion. He does not desire any improper participation in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion by the believers (the saved). So HE severely warns,

“wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the LORD, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the LORD. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the LORD’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep (are dead).”
I Corinthians 11:27-30

The above things are also happening in our church. The partakers of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the most holy body and the most holy blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. An extremely disgusting weakness or a seriously debilitating illness or the capital punishment (punishment by death) will be given for this guilt against the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST.
The above guilt is a guilt to deserve the terrible wrath of GOD; the above guilt is a guilt to deserve the terrible judgment of GOD; the above guilt is a guilt to deserve the terrible hell (the eternal punishment).
So, no believers should partake in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion improperly or unworthily, and the unsaved should never partake in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion.

2.6 WASHING OF FEET

Washing the guests' feet was done by the servants or slaves. It was a menial task. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST washed HIS disciples' feet; HE washed the feet of the people who were the work of HIS creation.  By doing this menial task, HE showed HIS very humble service and HIS great humility.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST washed HIS disciples' feet like a servant or slave; HE washed the feet of HIS people like a servant or slave. HE washed HIS disciples' feet to save and redeem all those who are caught by pride, the evil character of Satan, the devil. HE washed the feet of HIS own creations, the work of HIS hand to save and redeem all those who were caught by pride, the evil character of Satan, the devil. By doing this menial task, HE has taught a lesson of humility and humble service to all those that are sorely in need, since all are puffed up with pride.

The purpose of this washing of feet by our LORD JESUS CHRIST was to set an example. The purpose of this washing of feet by our LORD JESUS CHRIST was to establish an ordinance. The first century Christians washed feet as an act of humble service. The first century Christians washed feet as an act of humility. The believers of the first century Christian church practised this as a church ordinance. So, we, the believers of our church are also practising this as our church ordinance. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

HE (JESUS) riseth from supper, and laid aside HIS garments; and took a towel, and girded HIMSELF. After that HE (JESUS) poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith HE (JESUS) was girded.”
St. John 13:4-5

Before establishing the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover, our LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST got up from the supper or the meal of the Old Testament feast of the LORD's Passover and took off HIS outer clothing and wrapped a towel round HIS waist. After that, HE poured water into a basin and began to wash HIS disciples' feet, and wiped them with the towel that was wrapped round HIM. This shows the LORD JESUS CHRIST's true humility. One of the greatest qualities of our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is HIS humility.

This humility is absolutely essential for those who partake of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion. Hence, the partakers of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion should wash and wipe one another's feet. The LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST set an example for the saints or the people of the LORD GOD to follow as HE had done for HIS disciples. This act of humble service will fetch abundant blessings of the LORD GOD. This act of humility will fetch abundant blessings of the LORD GOD. Those who practise this will be greatly blessed by our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

“So after HE (JESUS) had washed their feet, and had taken HIS garments, and was set down again, HE (JESUS) said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call ME Master and LORD: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your LORD and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord (master); neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If  ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.”
St. John 13:12-17

Our LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST has established the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover or the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread and HE has ended the Old Testament feast of the LORD's Passover.

2.7 WHOSE REMEMBRANCE ?
The LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST has shed HIS most holy blood from the garden of Gethsemane to Calvary for the people of the whole world. HE has shed HIS most holy blood completely on the cross for the people of the whole world. HIS most holy blood is the blood of the New Testament. HIS blood is shed for the people of the whole world, for the forgiveness of their sins. And HIS most holy body was terribly broken for the people of the whole world. HE died for the people of the whole world.

The LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion is celebrated in remembrance of the LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. The Holy Communion is given in remembrance of the terribly broken body, the most holy body of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. The Holy Communion is given in remembrance of the most holy blood shed by the LORD JESUS CHRIST from Gethsemane to Calvary. The Holy Communion is taken in remembrance of the LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST's terrible death on the cross to pay for our sins.

“And as they were eating, JESUS took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is MY body. And HE took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is MY blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission (forgiveness) of sins.”
St. Matthew  26:26-28

“...That the LORD JESUS the same night in which HE was betrayed took bread: And when HE had given thanks, HE brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is MY body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of ME. After the same manner also HE took the cup, when HE had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in MY blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of ME. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew (proclaim) the LORD’s death till HE come.”
I Corinthians 11:23-26

Abundant blessings of the LORD are given to those who are in remembrance of the LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, the LORD GOD. Abundant blessings of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST are given to those who partake of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion.

2.8 BLESSINGS OF LORD'S SUPPER

The LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST has opened HIS most holy mouth and said:
“I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is MY flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man (the LORD JESUS CHRIST), and drink HIS blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth MY flesh, and drinketh MY blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For MY flesh is meat (food) indeed, and MY blood is drink indeed. HE that eateth MY flesh, and drinketh MY blood, dwelleth in ME, and I in him. As the living FATHER hath sent ME, and I live by the FATHER: so he that eateth ME, even he shall live by ME. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.”
St. John 6:48-51, 53-58

The LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is the bread of life. HE is the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever. This bread is HIS most holy flesh. HE gives this bread for the life of the whole world. Unless you eat the most holy flesh of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and drink HIS most holy blood, you have no life in you. Thus, one of the blessings obtained by partaking of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion is full life, everlasting life.

Further, whoever eats HIS most holy flesh and drinks HIS most holy blood will be raised up by HIM on the last day. This is the second blessing. Here, the last day means the day of the first resurrection of the saints. They are the blessed and the holy.

“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of GOD and of CHRIST, and shall reign with HIM a thousand years.”
Revelation 20:6

Again, whoever eats HIS most holy flesh, the real food and drinks HIS most holy blood, the real drink remains in HIM and HE in him.  Hence, the living GOD lives in him always. He lives in the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST always. This is the third blessing.

Further, whoever eats HIS most holy flesh, the bread that came down from heaven or the manna of life will live for ever. He will never die. The second death (hell) has no power over him. He will live with the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST for ever and ever in the kingdom of GOD. This is the fourth blessing. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

2.9 SIGNIFICANCE OF LORD'S SUPPER
During the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion service, one unleavened bread (the bread without yeast), made up of fresh and fine grains of wheat and new grape juice, made up of fresh and fine grapes (the fruit of the vine) are placed on the table.

The church of the LORD consists of many saved people (Acts 2:47). These saved people are the members of the church. The members of the church are the most holy body of CHRIST and they are the members of the most holy body of CHRIST in particular (individually) (I Corinthians 12:27). Now, the church consists of many saved people and the bread consists of many grains of wheat. Many grains of wheat represents many saved people. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

During the Holy Communion service, truly, the unleavened bread will become the most holy flesh of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and truly, the new grape juice, made up of fresh and fine grapes will become the most holy blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, by the wonderful work of the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

Hence, those who partake of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion eat, truly, the most holy flesh of the LORD JESUS CHRIST and drink, truly, the most holy blood of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

So, anyone who partakes of the LORD's  Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread or the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover in an unworthy manner, will be punished by a vile weakness or by a vile sickness or by death (I Corinthians 11:27-30).
The partakers of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion partake of the one bread. Since, they are all partakers of the one bread, they being many are one bread, and one body, the most holy body of JESUS CHRIST, the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD. This is one of the greatest blessings of the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion or the Breaking of Bread or the New Testament feast of the LORD's Passover. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!
This is the most solemn and awesome religious feast of Christians, the saved. This is the most blessed religious feast of Christians, the saved. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

While celebrating the Old Testament feast of Passover, no fermented bread or no fermented things should be seen among them in all their territory and no fermented bread or no fermented things should be eaten or drunk by them (Deuteronomy 16:1-4).
Likewise, when celebrating the New Testament feast of Passover or the Holy Communion or the LORD's Supper, no fermented bread or no fermented juice of grapes (no fermented wine) should be used. While instituting the LORD's Supper, our LORD JESUS CHRIST has not given HIS disciples (apostles), the fermented bread or the fermented juice of grapes (the fermented wine). HE has given HIS disciples (apostles) the unfermented bread and the sweet and unfermented juice of fresh and fine grapes-the fruit of the vine (St. Mark 14:25). The Jewish historian Josephus, who was contemporary with the apostles, explicitly calls the clusters of grapes freshly squeezed in a cup by Pharaoh's cupbearer as 'the fruit of the vine' (Genesis 40:10-11).

The Talmud-the collection of ancient writings on Jewish law and tradition indicates that drinking to the accompaniment of musical instruments on festive occasions such as wedding was forbidden. Rabbi S.M. Isaac, an eminent nineteenth century rabbi and editor of the Jewish Messenger, says: "The Jews do not, in their feasts for sacred purposes, including the marriage feast, ever use any kind of fermented drinks. In their oblations and libations, both private and public, they employ the fruit of the vine, that is, fresh grapes-unfermented grape juice, and raisins, as the symbol of benediction. Fermentation is to them always a symbol of corruption". So, in the wedding in Cana, our LORD JESUS CHRIST has given the sweet and unfermented juice of fresh and fine grapes-the fruit of the vine, by turning water into good wine (St. John 2:1-11).

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST has used the following three illustrations for the same purpose: (1) New cloth is not used to patch up an old garment (St. Luke 5:36); (2) New wine is not placed in old wineskins (St. Luke 5:37-38); (3) New wine is not liked by those who are accustomed to drink the old (St. Luke 5:39). The common purpose of these three illustrations is to help people to recognize that the old forms of religious life seem good, only so long as one is not accustomed to or acquainted with the new forms of religious life taught by CHRIST. In this context, the old fermented wine-the Old Testament doctrine, the Law of Moses seems good only to those who do not know about the better new wine-the New Testament doctrine, the divine Gospel of CHRIST. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST has abstained from all intoxicating substances or alcoholic beverages and HE has given no sanction to HIS followers to use them (Ephesians 5:18).

'The fruit of the vine' that our LORD JESUS commanded to be used as a memorial of HIS redeeming blood was not fermented. Fermented grape juice (fermented wine) represents human corruption, but unfermented and pure grape juice is a fitting emblem of CHRIST's
untainted blood shed for the remission of our sins. Glory be to GOD!
Hence, making or using of different kinds of fermented wine or different kinds of alcoholic drinks and beverages is strictly prohibited or forbidden.

Making or using different kinds of fermented wine or different kinds of alcoholic drinks and beverages will wholly destroy the godly life of moral and spiritual excellence; it will wholly occupy the minds with the wrong notions and shameful ideas; it will vigorously activate a life of indulgence; and it will wholly destroy all Christian virtues.

“Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.”
Proverbs 23:29-35

“Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!”
Isaiah 5:11

All Christian virtues, especially, the three great Christian virtues of faith, hope and love (charity) will be fully destroyed by drunkenness and gluttony (Proverbs 23:20-21; Ephesians 5:18; Hosea 4:11). The greatest of all Christian virtues is love (I Corinthians 13:13), because GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST is love (I John 4:8) and has endowed us with HIS love (St. John 3:16; I john 4:10) and has commanded us to love HIM (Psalm 31:23) and to love one another (St. John 13:34-35). Trust in GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST is faith (Psalm 37:3) and belief in HIS promises is faith (Genesis 15:6). For our day-to-day life, faith is very essential. The confident and firm expectation which comes through trust in GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST is hope (Romans 8:24-25). Salvation comes by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) and hope always accompanies salvation. The hope of eternal life in heaven, the kingdom of GOD will help us to rejoice in CHRIST (Titus 1:2). The drunkards and gluttons should not participate in the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion. Glory be to GOD!
