7.10 EVENTS AFTER DEATH
When the LORD JESUS CHRIST had given up HIS glorious life, the thick curtain of the temple of Jerusalem, separating the holy place and the holy of holies, was torn from top to bottom into two and fell on the floor. This symbolizes the permanent opening of GOD's presence to mankind and their direct access to GOD through the terrible death of CHRIST.

There were earthquakes and the rocks split loudly and violently.  Many tombs broke open. Particularly, many tombs of the saints (holy people) broke open. After the resurrection of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the bodies of these saints who had died were raised to life, they came out of their tombs, and they went into the holy city of Jerusalem and appeared to many people.

JESUS, when HE had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost (the spirit). And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after HIS resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”
St. Matthew 27:50-53

When the Roman centurion, Cornelius and those with him who were guarding JESUS saw the earthquake and all that happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed,

“Truly this was the Son of GOD (the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST).”
St. Matthew 27:54

This was a very strong affirmation of genuine faith based on all they had witnessed. Certainly this incident reveals our LORD JESUS CHRIST's most glorious life and character, even in the face of HIS terrible death on the cross.

7.11 TRUE SACRIFICE
the required qualifications of a true sacrifice for sins of mankind are as follows:

1.   The true sacrifice should be without spot or fault or blemish   and offered to GOD. Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST sacrificed or offered HIMSELF to GOD and HE was without spot and without blemish. HE was perfect in all respects.

“And walk in love, as CHRIST also hath loved us, and hath given HIMSELF for us an offering and a sacrifice to GOD for a sweetsmelling savour.”
Ephesians 5:2

“How much more shall the blood of CHRIST, who through the eternal Spirit offered HIMSELF without spot to GOD, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living GOD?” Hebrews 9:14

2. The true sacrifice should be the Lamb of GOD without blemish and without spot. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST is the Lamb of gOD without blemish and without spot.

“The next day John seeth JESUS coming unto HIM, and saith, Behold the Lamb of GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
St. John 1:29

“But with the precious blood of CHRIST, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
I Peter 1:19

3.    The true sacrifice should be the GOD in the guise of a man; our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST came in this world becoming a man.     HE declared HIMSELF the Son of GOD and the Son of man. See St. John 10:36; St. Matthew 20:28.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in CHRIST JESUS: Who, being in the form of GOD, thought it not robbery to be equal with GOD: But made HIMSELF of no reputation, and took upon HIM the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, HE humbled HIMSELF, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Philippians 2:5-8

“...GOD was manifest in the flesh, ...”
I Timothy 3:16

4.     The true sacrifice should be crowned with a crown of thorns. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST was crowned with a twisted crown of iron thorns.

“And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon HIS head, ...”
St. Matthew 27:29

5.       The true sacrifice should be bound. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST was bound.
“Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took JESUS, and bound HIM.”
St. John 18:12

Before crucifixion, the most holy arms and legs of our LORD JESUS CHRIST were strongly bound on the wooden cross by ropes.

6.       The true sacrifice should be given bitter vinegar to drink. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST was given bitter vinegar to drink.

“They gave HIM vinegar to drink mingled with gall (myrrh): and when HE had tasted thereof, HE would not drink.”
St. Matthew 27:34

7.       The true sacrifice should be nailed on its hands and feet. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST's most holy hands and feet were nailed on the cross.

“...They pierced MY hands and MY feet.”
Psalm 22:16

HIM, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of GOD, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.”
Acts 2:23

8.       The garments (clothes) of the true sacrifice should be made four parts, one for each of them. The soldiers divided the most holy garment of our LORD JESUS CHRIST into four shares, one for each of them.

“Then the soldiers, when they had crucified JESUS, took HIS garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also HIS coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted MY raiment among them, and for MY vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.”
St. John 19:23-24

9.       Any of the bones of the true sacrifice should not be broken.  No bone of our LORD JESUS CHRIST was broken.

“But when they came to JESUS, and saw that HE was dead already, they brake not HIS legs: For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of HIM shall not be broken.”
St. John 19:33, 36

10.     The flesh (the body) of the true sacrifice should be eaten. The most holy body of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is eaten during the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, in remembrance of HIM.

“...That the LORD JESUS the same night in which HE was betrayed took bread: And when HE had given thanks, HE brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is MY body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of ME.”
I Corinthians 11:23-24

11.     The blood of the true sacrifice should be drunk. The most holy blood of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is drunk during the LORD's Supper or the Holy Communion, in remembrance of HIM.

“After the same manner also HE (the LORD JESUS CHRIST) took the cup, when HE had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in MY blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of ME.”
I Corinthians 11:25

12.     The true sacrifice should die and it should resurrect or rise again after death. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST died on the cross and HE rose again the third day.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
I Corinthians 15:3-4

Now, at this stage it is very interesting to note that the Indian Hindu sacrifice also accepts almost all these qualifications of a true sacrifice for sins of mankind.

7.12 12 BLESSINGS THROUGH THE BLOOD
the following are the glorious blessings obtained through the most precious and holy blood of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

1.  The Gentiles who were far away from JESUS have been brought near to HIM through HIS blood.

“But now in CHRIST JESUS ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of CHRIST.”
Ephesians 2:13

2.       The peace of GOD is obtained through the blood of JESUS.

“And, having made peace through the blood of HIS cross, by HIM to reconcile all things unto HIMSELF; ...”
Colossians 1:20

3.  The forgiveness of sins (the remission of sins) is obtained through the blood of JESUS.

“For this is MY blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
St. Matthew 26:28

“...And without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Hebrews 9:22

4. The blood of JESUS delivers (saves) the people from sins.

“As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.”
Zechariah 9:11

5.  The blood of JESUS sanctifies the people.

“Wherefore JESUS also, that HE might sanctify the people with HIS own blood, suffered without the gate.”
Hebrews 13:12

‘Without’ means ‘outside’.

6.  The blood of JESUS cleanses all sins.

“...And the blood of JESUS CHRIST HIS SON cleanseth us from all sin.”
I John 1:7

“...Unto HIM that loved us, and washed us from our sins in HIS own blood.”
Revelation 1:5

7.  The redemption from sins is obtained through the blood of JESUS.

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation (useless conduct) received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of CHRIST, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
I Peter 1:18-19

8.  The blood of JESUS cleanses the conscience from works or acts that lead to death.
“How much more shall the blood of CHRIST, who through the eternal Spirit offered HIMSELF without spot to GOD, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living
GOD
?”
Hebrews 9:14

9. Anyone can be justified by the blood of JESUS.

“Much more then, being now justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM.”
Romans 5:9

10. Anyone can obtain boldness to enter into the most holy place of GOD by the blood of JESUS.

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of JESUS,”
Hebrews 10:19

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find   grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews  4:16

11.Anyone can live the new and regenerated life by the blood of JESUS. This new life in CHRIST is the true Christian way of living.

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of JESUS, By a new and living way, which HE hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, HIS flesh;”
Hebrews 10:19-20

12.  The blood of JESUS gives great victory over Satan and over all.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Revelation 12:11

Those who overcome will receive the throne in the kingdom of GOD.
“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with ME in MY throne, ...”
Revelation 3:21

7.13 GOOD FRIDAY

The day of the crucifixion of our lord JESUS CHRIST is called Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday. On Good Friday, our LORD JESUS CHRIST horribly died for the sins of the world. HE rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. Good Friday occurs
on a Friday in March or April. On Good Friday our most holy LORD JESUS CHRIST horribly died on the cross for sinners. So this Friday is the most sorrowful day. So this Friday is also known as 'The Holy Friday' or 'The Friday of Great Sorrow'.

No one else has ever suffered and died for sinners as our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD has done. Therefore, Good Friday is observed as a day of great mourning throughout the world. No other day is observed as a great mourning day like this and this manner of great mourning is observed for no one else.

7.14 THE GREAT I AM

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST allowed HIMSELF to be crucified and murdered. No one can otherwise capture HIM, or tie HIS most holy hands behind HIM, or handcuff HIM, or pull HIM hither and thither by chains in HIS most holy waist, or drop HIM to the ground, or drop HIM into a deep and dark pit, or beat HIM, or scourge HIM, or ridicule HIM, or spit on HIS most holy face, or pull out HIS most holy beard, or beat on HIS most holy face, or mock at HIM, or crucify HIM, or murder HIM.

A great multitude of people with a number of soldiers headed by the betrayer Judas went to the garden of Gethsemane, with lanterns, torches and weapons to capture HIM. JESUS had known everything that was going to happen. JESUS went to them and asked, "WHOM SEEK YE?" They replied that they were seeking JESUS of Nazareth.  JESUS said to them, "I AM HE". As soon as HE had said, "I AM HE", the great multitude went backward and fell to the ground. See St. John 18:1-6.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST is the great "I AM", such an all-powerful and Almighty GOD. HE came to the world to shed HIS most holy blood and to die on the cross, to be buried and resurrected on the third day for mankind. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST fulfilled all these things. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

7.15 THE HOLY SEPULCHRE

After the death of our LORD JESUS CHRIST on the cross, Joseph of Arimathaea, a good and just man and a rich and honourable counsellor (member of the Sanhedrin) who was also himself a secret disciple of JESUS, waiting for the kingdom of GOD, went boldly to Pilate and begged for the most holy body of JESUS. Pilate was surprised to hear that HE had already been dead. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph.

Joseph bought clean and fine linen clothes and came to Calvary and he had started to take down the most holy body of JESUS from the cross. Joseph was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited JESUS at night. Nicodemus was a man of the Pharisees and he was a just man. He was also a member of the Jewish ruling council (the Sanhedrin) and he was a master of Israel. Nicodemus bought a mixture of fine myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds and came to Calvary. John, the disciple whom JESUS loved was also there. Joseph, Nicodemus, and John took the most holy body of JESUS down from the cross. Then they wiped off the most holy body of JESUS by clean and fine linen clothes and after that, they wrapped the most holy body of JESUS in clean and fine linen clothes, with a mixture of fine myrrh and aloes. This was in accordance with the Jewish burial customs.

Then the most holy body of JESUS was laid in a new sepulchre (a new tomb) hewn in rock, in a garden nearby, in which no one had ever been laid. That tomb belonged to Joseph of Arimathaea, the rich and devout Christian and one of the secret disciples of our LORD JESUS. Thus, it fulfils the prophecy of Isaiah, the prophet. He says:

“And he (they) made HIS grave with the wicked, and with the rich in HIS death; because HE had done no violence, neither was any deceit in HIS mouth.”
Isaiah 53:9

Our LORD's most holy body was embalmed after the Jewish manner. The myrrh and the aloe wood were reduced to powder and inserted between the bandages, which were wound fold upon fold round the body. The enormous quantity (about 100 pound weight) of spices, though surprising is credible as the offering of two wealthy men. According to Jewish and general eastern custom, the neck and face of the LORD were doubtless left bare.

Now, man consists of three things: spirit, soul and body (I Thessalonians 5:23). Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST came into the world as a Man to save and redeem the whole world. HE had a most holy human Body (earthly Body); HE had a most holy human Soul; and HE had a most holy human Spirit. HE had poured out HIS Soul unto death (Isaiah 53:12); HE had given up HIS Spirit into the hands of the FATHER, GOD the FATHER (St. Luke 23:46); and HE had given up HIS earthly Body in the hands of men. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

After they rolled a big stone and shut the entrance of the holy tomb, they went away. While JESUS was yet alive, HE had said:

“...After three days I will rise again.”
St. Matthew 27:63

Then the chief priests and Pharisees went to Pilate and repeated the above words of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and asked him to give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Pilate gave the order. So they went and made the tomb secure by putting seven seals on the stone and posting the guard. Roman soldiers and Jewish soldiers guarded the most holy tomb of our lord jesus CHRIST.

“So they went, and made the sepulchre sure (secure), sealing the stone, and setting a watch (guard).”
St. Matthew 27:66

8. THE GLORIOUS RESURRECTION AND AFTER

8.1 RESURRECTION
The most glorious rising of our LORD JESUS CHRIST from the grave is called resurrection. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST had been laid in the tomb on Friday. The next day was the Sabbath (Saturday), the last day of the week. The first day of the week was Sunday. At the dawn on the first day of the week (Sunday), there was a violent and sudden earthquake and the guards were so afraid that they shook and became like dead men. The seals on the stone were broken into pieces and the big stone was rolled away with a loud bang. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST resurrected HIMSELF and went out of the holy sepulchre. What a wonderful and startling thing it is! Had HIS most holy body been stolen, HIS grave-clothes and head-cloth would not have been left in an orderly manner. No one could steal a body and leave the grave-clothes like that (St. Matthew 27:62-66; 28:11-15; St. John 20:4-8).

As HE had already said, HE resurrected HIMSELF from HIS holy tomb on the third day with a most glorious and divine body (I Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:3). Now the empty tomb of our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is seen still today. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

HE is not here: for HE is risen, as HE said. Come, see the place where the LORD lay.”
St. Matthew 28:6

The Resurrection of CHRIST included seven accomplishments:

(i)     The physical renewing of HIS life (I Corinthians 15:44).

(ii)     The reunion of HIS body and HIS Spirit (St. Luke 23:46).

(iii)    The subjugation of death under HIM (I Corinthians 15:54-55; Isaiah 28:18).

(iv)    The subjugation of the grave under HIM (Hosea 13:14).

(v)    The subjugation of all things under HIM (Philippians 3:21).

(vi)    The receiving of HIS glorious transfigured body (St. Luke 24:36-43).

(vii)   The attainment of HIS new exalted position (St. Matthew 28:18).

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST's glorious resurrection clearly proves that HE is the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD and Saviour of the world, with all power and authority in heaven and on earth. It also clearly proves that HE is coming again to receive all believers, the saved people to HIMSELF. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

What is the place of LORD JESUS CHRIST's resurrection in the gospel of salvation? How important is resurrection in the LORD's magnificent plan of salvation? These are vitally important questions to ask, but not easy ones to answer. Let us try to answer these questions keeping in mind that LORD JESUS suffered eternal death under the wrath of GOD. The eternal death was what was demanded for the payment of sin. Our LORD JESUS had to undergo continuously eternal death-pangs to complete this work. Our salvation depends on HIS completed work. But, did HE really accomplish it? Yes. No doubt HE did it rightly, properly and perfectly.

It is HIS resurrection that confirms the fact that full payment for the sin of the world was made. The LAMB of GOD (the LORD JESUS CHRIST) has taken away the sin of the world (St. John 1:29). The LAMB without blemish and without spot (I Peter 1:19) has poured out HIS soul unto death (Isaiah 53:12).

The very fact that LORD JESUS was raised proves beyond doubt that HE went all the way through the required punishment. Let us remember at this point that LORD JESUS neither took any privileged short cuts nor left us any liability before the law.

What other inferences do we arrive at since LORD JESUS was resurrected? The obvious conclusion is that GOD accepted HIS sacrifice.  Not only that, GOD was well satisfied and well pleased with it.

Secondly, if JESUS was raised it must be that HE is GOD, the only one who could endure the wrath of GOD for all of HIS people without being destroyed.

Thirdly, HIS resurrection offers a clear and indisputable evidence of HIS power and authority to keep HIS word that HE is the Saviour.

Considering all these, we can easily reach the conclusion that LORD JESUS' resurrection verified and confirmed the fulfilment of GOD's work of atonement. HIS resurrection can be called the last step in a series of actions that LORD JESUS took to fulfil HIS work as the Saviour.

If we have understood the significance and impact of our LORD's resurrection, we will never fail to recognize and obey what we are mandated to do. That is, it is absolutely necessary for us to proclaim in detail the finished work of our LORD (St. John 10:17-18, 7:3-4; Acts 2:24), HIS power to lay down HIS life and to take it back again. The LORD's gospel would be incomplete without the proclamation of the LORD's much awaited return. So, the LIGHT that came into the universe has done the work IT needed to do.

8.2 12 THINGS OVERCOME BY JESUS
Our LORD and Saviour JESUS CHRIST overcame the following things:

1. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the world. Our LORD JESUS has said,
“...I have overcome the world.”
 St. John 16:33

This means that our LORD JESUS CHRIST has overcome the following eight things of the world:

  1. HE has overcome the world of vanity (Ecclesiastes 1:2).

  2. HE has overcome the world of nature (I Corinthians 2:14).

  3. HE has overcome the world of destruction (Romans 3:16).

  4. HE has overcome the world of evil (Proverbs 12:21).

  5. HE has overcome the world of Satan, the devil (Job 1:7; Genesis 3:15).

     6.  HE has overcome the world of sin (St. John 8:46).

     7.  HE has overcome the world of death (I Corinthians 15:55-56).

     8.  HE has overcome the world of corruption (I Corinthians 15:50).

The LORD who has conquered all these has promised,

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with ME in MY throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with MY FATHER in HIS throne.”
Revelation 3:21

2.      Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame sin.

“Which of you convinceth (convicts) ME of sin? ...”
St. John 8:46

3.      Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame HIS SELF, by not pleasing HIMSELF.
“For even CHRIST pleased not HIMSELF; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on ME.”
Romans 15:3
4.      Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the curse.

CHRIST hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.”
 Galatians 3:13

5.    Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the cross, by giving up HIS Spirit. See St. Matthew 27:50.

6.     Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame Satan, the devil. See St. Matthew 4:1-11.

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, HE also HIMSELF likewise took part (shared) of the same; that through death HE might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”
Hebrews 2:14

7.    Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the disobedience, the first sin of Adam and Eve.

“And being found in fashion (appearance) as a man, HE humbled HIMSELF, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Philippians 2:8

8.      Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the great sufferings (I Peter 2:23).

“... CHRIST hath suffered for us in the flesh, ...”
I Peter 4:1

9.        Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame death.

HE will swallow up death in victory; and the LORD GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of HIS people shall HE take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 25:8

10.     Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the grave. One of the accomplishments of HIS resurrection is the liberation and deliverance of the souls of HIS Old Testament saints (Ephesians 4:9) from the decay of the perishing earth or from the grave (I Samuel 28:3-20; Daniel 12:2) and led them to the blissful paradise (II Corinthians 12:2-4; St. Luke 23:43), the glorious presence of GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST (Philippians 1:23).

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
I Corinthians 15:55

“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from MINE eyes.”
Hosea 13:14

11.     Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame the promises, by fulfilling all the promises about HIM.

“For all the promises of  GOD in  HIM  are  yea,  and  in HIM Amen, unto the glory of GOD by us.”       II Corinthians 1:20

12.     Our LORD JESUS CHRIST overcame heaven, by defeating Satan and his angels. See Revelation 12:7-10.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST resurrected HIMSELF from the grave to give victory over all things to HIS people.

8.3 10 BLESSINGS OF RESURRECTION

Because of the resurrection of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the following blessings are passed on to us from our LORD.

1.    Anyone can live a sinless life and his faith will not become futile.

“And if CHRIST be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.”
I Corinthians 15:17

‘Vain’ means ‘futile’

2.      Anyone can be fully united with our LORD JESUS CHRIST in HIS glorious resurrection and life, since HE is the resurrection and the life (Romans 6:5; St. John 11:25-26).

3.      Anyone can be justified and made righteous if he believes in HIS resurrection.
“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”
Romans 4:25

4.     The power of our LORD JESUS CHRIST's resurrection, i.e., the Holy Spirit of the LORD is given to HIS people to live a holy life.

“That I may know HIM, and the power of HIS resurrection, and the fellowship of HIS sufferings, being made conformable unto HIS death.”
Philippians 3:10

By the sanctification of the HOLY SPIRIT (I Peter 1:2) and by the spiritual renewing produced by the HOLY SPIRIT (Titus 3:5), anyone can live a renewed life.

5.      According to HIS abundant mercy, anyone can be born-again unto a living hope by the resurrection of our LORD JESUS CHRIST from the dead (I Peter 1:3).

6.      Anyone can enter into an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven (I Peter 1:4).

7.      Anyone can be kept by the power of GOD through faith unto salvation-the totally stable salvation, the redemption of body, that is ready to be revealed in the last time (I Peter  1:5;  Philippians 3:21).

8.      Anyone can be redeemed and saved from the power of death and from the power of the grave (Hosea 13:14; I Corinthians 15:55) by the resurrection of our LORD JESUS CHRIST (I Peter 3:21).

9.      Anyone can take part in the resurrection of the saints-the first resurrection (Revelation 20:6).

10.  Since our LORD JESUS CHRIST died and rose again (resurrected), those who slept in JESUS CHRIST (the dead in JESUS CHRIST) or the saved people who were put to sleep by JESUS CHRIST will also be resurrected first, during HIS glorious coming to gather HIS people, the church. Then the saved people who are alive and remain in this world in JESUS CHRIST will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST in the air. Then they will be always with HIM. This is the most important blessing of HIS resurrection.  Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

“For if we believe that JESUS died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in JESUS will GOD bring with HIM. For this we say unto you by the word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep (dead). For the LORDHIMSELF shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump (trumpet) of GOD: and the dead in CHRIST shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD.”
I Thessalonians 4:14-17

8.4 7 CONSEQUENCES OF THE RESURRECTION CONFIRMED

Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST has lived in this world with an earthly body; but HE resurrected HIMSELF with a glorious and divine heavenly body. Now, by HIS glorious resurrection, the following great and important mysteries are resolved:

Mystery  1

Since our LORD JESUS CHRIST with an earthly body has resurrected HIMSELF after death, it is sure and certain that all people who are living in this world with an earthly body will be resurrected after death and all people who are already dead in their earthly body will also be resurrected. This fact confirms the resurrection of the dead.

Mystery  2
Since our most holy LORD JESUS CHRIST with an earthly body has resurrected HIMSELF after death with a glorious and divine heavenly body, it is sure and certain that all HIS holy people (saints) who have already died in their earthly body will be resurrected with a glorious and divine heavenly body.

Mystery  3

Since our LORD JESUS CHRIST is going to give a glorious and divine heavenly body to HIS saints who have already died, it is sure and certain that the saints who are living in this world will also be given a glorious and divine heavenly body.
“Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned (conformed) like unto HIS glorious body, according to the working whereby HE is able even to subdue all things unto HIMSELF.”
Philippians 3:21
Mystery  4

Since all the holy people of our LORD JESUS CHRIST are going to get a glorious and divine heavenly body suited for heaven, the kingdom of GOD, it is sure and certain that the sinners who are already dead and the sinners who are living in this world, are going to get a worthless body suited for hell, the fiery lake of burning sulphur.

Mystery  5

Since all saints and all sinners who have died, are going to be resurrected, it is sure and certain that there is judgment to sinners and saints.
“...Behold, the LORD cometh with ten thousands of HIS saints, To execute judgment upon all, ...”
Jude 14-15
Mystery  6

Since our LORD JESUS CHRIST without blemish and without spot has been accused, judged and killed by sinners unjustly, it is sure and certain that our LORD JESUS CHRIST will be the most righteous judge who is going to give HIS most righteous judgment to sinners and to HIS saints. Therefore, all people must repent and turn to HIM, since a resurrection and a judgment day are coming.

“And the times of this ignorance GOD winked at (overlooked); but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because HE hath appointed a day, in the which HE will judge the world in righteousness by that MAN whom HE hath ordained; whereof HE hath given assurance unto all men, in that HE hath raised HIM from the dead.”
Acts 17:30-31

Mystery  7

Since our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD is the most righteous judge, it is sure and certain that after HIS most righteous judgment all sinners will be thrown into hell, the fiery lake of burning sulphur with undying worms and HIS saints will enter into HIS glorious and divine kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of GOD.  Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

There is no partiality with GOD. HE will give to each one according to his deeds or works.
“Who will render to every man according to his deeds.”
Romans 2:6

8.5 EASTER

“...Whyseek ye the living among the dead? HE is not here, but is risen: remember how HE spake unto you when HE was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man (the lord jesus christ) must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and  be crucified, and the third day rise again.”
St. Luke 24:5-7

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST died for our sins and HE was buried and HE rose again the third day according to the scriptures. The day of our LORD JESUS CHRIST's resurrection is celebrated throughout the world with reverence as 'The Easter Festival' or 'The Festival of Resurrection'. This kind of festival is celebrated for no one else, because no one else has ever resurrected himself. The day of our LORD JESUS CHRIST's resurrection was Sunday, the first day of the week. So the first day of the week or Sunday is called 'The LORD's Day'.

Easter is an annual festival that occurs on a Sunday in March or April. The period about this time is Easter Day or Easter Sunday.  Easter week is the week beginning on Easter Sunday. Easter egg is an egg made of chocolate or a hen's egg with a painted shell, given as a present especially to children, at Easter. Easter is a joyous festival. Easter celebrations are joyful celebrations. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

8.6 FIRST APPEARANCE TO MARY MAGDALENE

When JESUS was risen early on the first day of the week, HE appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom HE had driven away seven devils (demons). HE appeared first to Mary Magdalene because of her great love towards HIM. Mary Magdalene stood all alone outside the holy tomb crying for HIM. So, HE appeared first to Mary Magdalene. Praise The LORD! Alleluia! See St. Mark 16:9; St. John 20:10-18.

“Now when JESUS was risen early the first day of the week, HE appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom HE had cast seven devils.”
St. Mark 16:9

8.7 FIRST APPEARANCE TO DISCIPLES

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that HE was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, HE was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”
 I Corinthians 15:3-6

On the evening of the first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the cruel Jews, the LORD JESUS CHRIST came and stood in the midst of them and said,
Peace be unto you.”
St. John 20:19

After HE said this, HE showed them HIS hands and HIS side. HIS disciples were overjoyed when they saw the LORD.

Thomas (called Didymus), one of the twelve, was not with the disciples when JESUS came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the lord."But Thomas said to them,

“Except I shall see in HIS hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into HIS side, I will not believe.”
St. John 20:25

And after eight days, HIS disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, JESUS came and stood among them and said,
Peace be unto you.”
St. John 20:26

Then HE said to Thomas,

“Reach hither thy finger, and behold MY hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into MY side: and be not faithless, but believing.”
St. John 20:27

‘Faithless’ means ‘unbelieving’.

And Thomas said to HIM,
“My LORD and my GOD.”
St. John 20:28

Then JESUS told him,
“Thomas, because thou hast seen ME, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

St. John 20:29
Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST arose and appeared in bodily form.  HE had flesh and bones; HE retained HIS scars; HE could be touched; and HE ate. See St. Luke 24:36-43; St. John 20:19-29.

8.8 THE SABBATH
The Sabbath or the Sabbath day is the holy day of the week that is used for resting and worshipping GOD. For Jews this day is Saturday (the last day of the week), and for Christians it is Sunday (the first day of the week).

In the New Testament, the first day of the week (Sunday), commemorating CHRIST's resurrection and HIS glorious appearance to HIS disciples, replaced the Jewish sabbath (Saturday), and Sunday became a regular period of Christian worship. Another name for Sunday is the LORD's Day (Revelation 1:10).

Now, the Pharisees had burdened the sabbath with many observances that were not laid down in the holy scriptures. They were in opposition to JESUS' healing on the sabbath. Therefore, JESUS said to them,

“...It is lawful to do well (good) on the sabbath days.”
St. Matthew 12:12
Further HE said to them,

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man (the LORD JESUS CHRIST) is LORD also of the sabbath.”
St. Mark 2:27-28

Since the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath, and our LORD JESUS CHRIST is LORD even of the sabbath, HE had changed the sabbath Saturday of the Old Testament into the sabbath Sunday of the New Testament. So, no one has any right to question about this sabbath Sunday of Christian worship. But, some Christians are wrongly observing the sabbath Saturday of the Old Testament from lack of knowledge.
In a number of countries, Friday is observed as the Sabbath day, the day of rest. So, in those countries, observing Friday as the Sabbath day, a regular period of Christian worship, is not a wrong thing; since the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.  Hence, for the use of man, the Sabbath day may be changed to any day of the week. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

8.9 THE LORD'S MINISTRY CONTINUES

The empty tomb (St. Mark 16:1-7), the missing body of JESUS (St. John 20:6-8), the risen JESUS (St. John 20:15-16, 20) and the transformed disciples (St. John 20:19; Acts 4:33) are the clear evidences for JESUS' resurrection. After JESUS' resurrection, HE walked with HIS disciples (St. Luke 24:15); HE stayed with them (St. Luke 24:29); and HE vanished from their sight (St. Luke 24:31) to reveal them that HE is GOD, the SPIRIT- the HOLY SPIRIT (St. John 4:24). HE became invisible from them. But HE was still with them (Acts 1:3). Again, HE became visible to them with HIS glorious resurrected body (St. Luke 24:39-43; Philippians 3:21) to reveal them that HE is GOD, the SON- the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Besides, HE is also GOD, the FATHER (St. John 10:30; 14:9). HE is Emmanuel, GOD with us (St. Matthew 1:23). HE promised that in HIS resurrection HE will be with us always, even to the end of the world (St. Matthew 28:20).

Again, by HIS miraculous breakfast by the sea (St. John 21:1-14), HE showed HIS disciples that HE is the LORD, who calls the things not being as being (Romans 4:17). For HE spoke and it was (Psalm 33:9). HE can create something out of nothing.

After HIS resurrection from the dead, our LORD JESUS CHRIST appeared to HIS disciples for a period of forty days. After HIS resurrection, HE showed HIMSELF to HIS disciples and gave many convincing proofs that HE was alive, and spoke about the kingdom of GOD (Acts 1:3). After HIS resurrection, our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST opened the eyes of HIS disciples again, so they could see and know HIM clearly. HE opened their eyes to give true sight to their eyes. And HE opened their understanding (minds) again, so they could understand the Holy Scriptures clearly. HE opened their minds to give true sight to their hearts. See st. Luke 24:31, 45. And HE asked them to preach the people about repentance and forgiveness of sins (remission of sins), from Jerusalem to all nations (St. Luke 24:47). This gospel of the kingdom should be preached in the whole world as a witness to all nations (St. Matthew 24:14). On one occasion, while HE was with HIS disciples, HE commanded them to wait for the Promise of the FATHER (Acts 1:4-5, 8).

8.10 THE GREAT COMMISSION
Our LORD jesus commissioned HIS disciples to go and make disciples of all nations.

”And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, All power (authority) is given unto ME in  heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach (make disciples of) all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit): Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
St. Matthew 28:18-20

The Gospel, the Good News of JESUS CHRIST spread from Jerusalem to Rome, from the Jewish to the Gentile world.

The church of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is to make disciples of all kinds of people. Only the saved people could be HIS disciples. Hence, those who are saved should then be baptized by total immersion (i.e., putting the whole body under water), in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the Holy Spirit. Then, train these disciples to obey everything that JESUS has commanded. The great commission is a command with three steps-make disciples, baptize and educate for eternity.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST has also commanded HIS disciples to preach to the people about HIS glorious resurrection from the dead on the third day, and to testify that HE is the one who was ordained by GOD to be the Judge of the living and the dead (Acts 10:40-42). With great power they testify about the coming Judge. With great power they gave witness to the resurrection of the LORD JESUS. And great grace was upon them all (Acts 4:33).

HIS disciples went on to tell people all about the person of LORD JESUS CHRIST- the most wonderful and loving person the world had ever seen (Acts 5:42). They went on to call people for repentance and faith, baptism into CHRIST for the true community of Christians and the reception of the HOLY SPIRIT.

8.11 THE GLORIOUS ASCENSION
Then our LORD JESUS CHRIST led HIS disciples out to the vicinity of Bethany and they came to the mount of Olives. There HE lifted up HIS most holy hands and blessed them. While JESUS was blessing HIS disciples, HE left them and ascended into heaven. A cloud hid HIM from their sight.

“And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as HE went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into

heaven? this same
JESUS, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen HIM go into heaven.”
Acts 1:10-11

And they worshipped HIM and returned to Jerusalem with great joy (St. Luke 24:52). Then they went upstairs, the room where they were staying. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of JESUS (Acts 1:13-14).
Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST ascended into heaven to give HIS spiritual gifts unto
men
- unto HIS church (Ephesians 4:8-10). HE conquered Satan and all his demonic horde, and distributed HIS spiritual gifts to HIS church. Firstly, HE distributed HIS spiritual gifts to HIS church on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). Some spiritual gifts are faith, wisdom, knowledge, discernment, healings, miracles, prophecy, speaking in different kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues (I Corinthians 12:7-11), ministering and teaching (Romans 12:7), exhortation, showing mercy,  giving and ruling (Romans 12:8), helping and governing (I Corinthians 12:28), shepherding and evangelizing (Ephesians 4:11), hospitality (I Peter 4:9), celibacy (St. Matthew 19:10-12) and martyrdom (I Corinthians 13:3).

8.12 JESUS WILL COME AGAIN

Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST will come to the world after preparing a place (resting place) for HIS children, who live in this world with the expectation of an eternal life in heaven.

“...I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto MYSELF; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
St. John 14:2-3

Therefore, our LORD JESUS CHRIST has commanded all people to know, to accept, and to believe HIM as the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD and to worship HIM. HE says,

“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
Revelation 22:7

Now, the death of our LORD JESUS CHRIST confirms HIS birth and HIS physical life (existence). Again, the visit of the Magi (the wise men) confirms HIS birth and physical life. Further, HIS preaching, HIS most holy life, and HIS wonderful works confirm HIS birth and HIS physical life.

Again, HIS burial confirms HIS death. HIS resurrection confirms HIS burial. Moreover, the empty tomb of JESUS confirms HIS burial and HIS resurrection. HIS showing HIMSELF to HIS disciples and others (after HIS resurrection) confirms HIS resurrection. HIS appearance to HIS disciples and others (after HIS resurrection) over a period of forty days, and HIS continued preaching about the kingdom of GOD and the Holy Spirit, confirm HIS appearance. HIS ascension into heaven before the eyes of HIS disciples, confirms HIS appearance.

The coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost confirms HIS ascension into heaven. Again, HIS promise about HIS coming back again, confirms HIS ascension into heaven. When HIS ascension into heaven, two angels also confirmed HIS coming back again. HIS promise about HIS coming back again confirms HIS judgment. HIS judgment confirms heaven, the kingdom of GOD and hell, the fiery lake of burning sulphur. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST also says,

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and MY reward is with ME, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
Revelation 22:11-12

Now, the MESSIAH or the MESSIAS or the CHRIST has come from heaven, and HE has ascended into heaven. HIS return is imminent.  Again and again, HE declares the imminence of HIS return.

"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: ... and he that is holy, let him be holy still:" are not HIS commands. But they are HIS facts, and they are HIS warnings. The deliberate habitual action of each person will determine his/her end. When CHRIST returns, the deliberate habitual action of each person will determine his/her eternal destiny.  For the unjust and the filthy people, their eternal destiny will be their eternal destruction in hell, the fiery lake of burning sulphur. For the righteous and the holy people, their eternal destiny will be their eternal life in heaven, the kingdom of GOD. Reward is always based on work. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

The final promise of CHRIST in the Holy Bible is that HIS return is imminent.
HE which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. ...”
Revelation 22:20

9. THREE PARABLES
9.1 THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST gave a parable for the people to understand the life after death and to understand the horror of hell and the way to escape hell. In this parable, JESUS CHRIST has spoken about an unrighteous rich man and a righteous beggar named Lazarus, full of leprosy sores. Lazarus was laid at the gate of the rich man, desiring to be fed with the crumbs, which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. JESUS said,

“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
St. Luke 16:19-31

‘Fared sumptuously’ means‘lived in great luxury’.

Abraham is the father of all believers. Those who are cast into hell cannot get even a single drop of water. They will be tormented for ever in the horribly dreadful flames of hell. So, everyone should escape from the damnation of hell, by believing JESUS CHRIST, the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD.

A number of Jews or Israelites are having a wrong thought that Abraham sits at the gate of hell to prevent any Jew or Israelite from entering into hell. Now, this parable clearly explains that Abraham cannot prevent any Jew or Israelite from entering into hell. So, no help will come from Abraham to the Jews or Israelites.

From this parable, we come to understand the following important things:

Earthly blessedness does not mean GOD's ultimate favour. The spiritual deadness is induced by wealth. After death there is no second chance. Those who do not hear and obey the Word of GOD spoken through HIS servants or those who do not hear and obey the gospel of GOD would not be convinced by a direct miracle done in their presence, even if someone rises from the dead.

The rich man was punished not for his wealth but for his abuse of it. Lazarus was justified not for his poverty but for his righteousness and faith and patience and humility.

“In your patience possess ye your souls.”
St. Luke 21:19

“Now the just (the righteous) shall live by faith: …”
Hebrews 10:38

possession of wealth is not wrong. The rich man had no sympathy for other people's feelings. He showed a total disregard for other people's sufferings. The dogs licked the sores of the poor leper. How horrible it would have been! But the rich man was callous and his callousness was due to his scepticism/skepticism (doubt and disbelief in GOD and HIS doctrines). He consumed his wealth in selfish luxury because he did not really believe in GOD or future life. If he had so believed he would have acted differently. This parable should be regarded as a warning against luxury, worldliness, selfishness and unbelief.

Our LORD says such a person would never believe even if someone rose from the dead.
What a wonderful parable our LORD has given us! How true and effective HIS teachings are! Shall we honour and praise HIM with all our heart and soul?

So, everyone should hear and obey the gospel of GOD. Everyone should do good. Everyone should be rich in good works. No one should put his/her trust in uncertain riches. But we should put our trust in the living GOD, the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Now, godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out of it. If we have food and clothing, we must be content with that. Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have erred from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
I Timothy 6:6-10

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living GOD, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ...”
I Timothy 6:17-18

9.2 THE RICH FOOL

When HE was in the world, our LORD JESUS CHRIST spoke in a parable about the vanity of human ideas and about how man is unaware of the hour in which his soul will be taken away from him. HE spoke also that the abundance of man's riches and treasures is not at all profitable to his soul. HE spoke about the unfortunate condition of fools who amass treasures for themselves without being rich in JESUS.  JESUS said,

“The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But GOD said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward GOD.”
St. Luke 12:16-21

‘Bestow’ means ‘store’. ‘Fruits’ mean ‘crops’.

This parable teaches that, since death and judgment are inevitable, men ought to devote their attention to laying up treasure in heaven, not on earth. Neither a man's physical nor his spiritual life is dependent upon great possessions. A healthy and happy human life can be lived in a state of comparative poverty, and spiritual life is rather hindered than aided by great possessions. Man's life is more valuable than possessions.

The rich man's wealth was honestly and justly acquired. Then what was his fault? His fault was not injustice but covetousness. He was no doubt a foolish man because he spoke as if earthly wealth could supply the needs of an immortal soul. How foolish and misled he was in his thinking and attitude!

9.3 THE LOST SON (THE PRODIGAL SON)
Furthermore, our LORD JESUS CHRIST gave a parable, which explains that GOD created man to be with HIM, and that it was HIS glorious purpose. It also explains the relationship between man and GOD and how GOD is waiting for the sinner to repent and come to HIM. It also reveals that the relationship between GOD and man is the same as the one between a father and a son. But man has gone away from GOD because of his insensitiveness to sin and wickedness and because of his lack of purpose and senselessness of mind. It exposes also the pitiable and shameful consequences of man's sin and how man incurs great worldly and spiritual losses when he drifts away from GOD, his Maker. When man becomes conscious of his sins, he comes to GOD desirous of giving up his filthy sins. GOD's love and tender mercy are revealed in this parable. With great eagerness, GOD is always expecting man to come back to HIM. When man comes back to GOD with a broken and contrite heart, with true sorrow and tears about his sins, GOD accepts, receives and recognizes him with great joy and love. When GOD accepts man, he receives immense blessings from GOD.  JESUS said,

“A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”
St. Luke 15:11-24

‘Living’ means ‘livelihood’. ‘Substance’ means ‘possessions’. ‘Riotous’ means ‘wasteful or prodigal’. ‘Fain’ means ‘gladly’. ‘No more’ means  ‘no longer’.

In this parable, 'the Father ' stands for GOD and 'the sons' for mankind. 'Best robe ' means 'the spiritual garments of Salvation and robe of Righteousness'. It also means unique, great, clean and white, pure and glorious spiritual life. The garment means spiritual life.

“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my GOD; for HE hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, HE hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, ...” Isaiah 61:10

“And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.”
Revelation 19:8

‘To her’ means ‘to the saved people’ or ‘to the church’. ‘She’ means  ‘the saved people’ or ‘the church’.

The elder son represents those who consider themselves just and are thought by others to be such. These self-righteous people despise others. The younger son represents all the penitent sinners.

'The portion of goods' is the whole of man's powers and faculties, which he ought to exercise and enjoy in his father's house. This means dependence upon GOD and HIS service. But the younger one demands to have everything under his own control, to use according to his own will and pleasure. This demand shows his lack of love and apostasy (relinquishment or rejection of faith).

The ring means the signet ring. The spiritual meaning of the signet ring is the experience of being sealed by the Holy Spirit into JESUS CHRIST. This is an immensely glorious and blessed experience. Only those who are sealed into CHRIST by the Holy Spirit will be resurrected at the first resurrection, the resurrection of the saints. They will inherit heaven with their divine body (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30).

“...O Zerubbabel, MY servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Haggai 2:23

The spiritual meaning of shoes is the readiness according to the gospel of peace. This is the immensely glorious experience of being alert and ready to enter heaven.
“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”
Ephesians 6:15
This 'lost son' is also referred by many as 'the Prodigal Son'.

10 . SEVEN SIGNIFYING MIRACLES OF JESUS

Furthermore, our LORD JESUS CHRIST gave a parable, which explains that GOD created man to be with HIM, and that it was HIS glorious purpose. It also explains the relationship between man and GOD and how GOD is waiting for the sinner to repent and come to HIM.

11. THE LOVING GOD, ALWAYS WITH US

11.1 EMMANUEL, GOD WITH US
When our LORD JESUS CHRIST was in this world HE was tempted, oppressed, afflicted and persecuted. HE suffered tribulations, insults, humiliations, weaknesses, grief, sorrows, hunger, thirst, wanderings, pains and tears. Our LORD suffered in HIS most holy body of flesh, terrible pains, humiliations, hardships and tortures, which no one has ever suffered. HE redeems HIS children from such distress, because HE has HIMSELF suffered it. HE is a good, mighty and loving GOD. HE is Emmanuel, the GOD who is always with us. HE is a very good Counsellor. HE is the Wonderful and Mighty GOD. HE is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call HIS name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, GOD with us.”
St. Matthew 1:23

11.2 JESUS CHRIST IS THE LOVING GOD

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST is our own god. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST alone is the GOD of mankind. HE alone is our own GOD. HE is a very good Father, very good Saviour, very good Redeemer, very good Shepherd and a most compassionate GOD. HE is all in all for us. HE is a very good teacher, very good friend, very good master, very good benefactor, very good doctor, very good companion, very good king, very good LORD, very good LORD of peace, very good guide and a most beloved GOD. Furthermore, the LORD JESUS CHRIST is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. The LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST lovingly calls all,

“Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
St. Matthew 11:28

It is essential for everyone to come to the LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST and get delivered from all grief, all heaviness, all sins, all curses, all sicknesses, all diseases, all infirmities, all sorrows, all troubles, all miseries, and all bondages of devil; and receive glorious comfort and rest from GOD. There is no one to love mankind as our LORD JESUS CHRIST does. JESUS CHRIST is the loving GOD. HE is the GOD who loves all. Hence, GOD is LOVE. Our LORD GOD, JESUS CHRIST is LOVE.

“He that loveth not knoweth not GOD; for GOD is love. In this was manifested the love of GOD toward us, because that GOD sent HIS only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through HIM. Herein is love, not that we loved GOD, but that HE loved us, and sent HIS SON to be the propitiation for our sins.”
I John 4:8-10

It is essential for us to be the loving children of this loving god and enter HIS kingdom of love. The lord jesus christ is the one god; he is the only one god; he is the one and only true god; and there is no other god. Praise The LORD! Alleluia!

   "Let us love HIM wholeheartedly.

Let us live for HIM only.

     Let us serve HIM sincerely.

Let us worship and adore HIM only."
